How many laws does box-and-box have?

There are 116 property-tested laws in total. These split into 103 kernel laws and 13 compose/CC2 laws. Each is exercised at 2,000 trials per run. The distinction matters when comparing published figures.

What is the modality ladder?

It is an eight-rung stack, each rung a small algebra with stated laws: alethic, axiological, deontic, temporal, reflexive, epistemic, strategic and resource. One composing bridge runs floor-then-gradient — feasible, then permitted, then best — over a safety floor that cannot be weakened.

Do the eight rungs map onto PULSE's five phases?

No. The rungs govern a single decision — one verdict on whether an action may proceed and whether it is best. PULSE's phases sequence a loop over time. Treating them as a one-to-one mapping is the most common misreading.

Dotted underline = grounded in one source claim. Dashed = grounded in several. Grey, no underline = connective tissue asserting no fact. A sentence that is neither grounded nor connective never ships — it is dropped or flagged for a human, mechanically, not by asking the model nicely.

The refusal

A page the system declined to write, published with its reason. This is the part no autoblog can copy — and it is the first thing to get quietly dropped under revenue pressure.

Why publish refusals at all

policy

Because the alternative is the thing being differentiated from. The category sells volume — "30+ articles a month" — straight into a scaled-content-abuse penalty. A system whose most distinctive feature is sometimes declining to publish is making a claim about its own grounding that a volume generator cannot make.

The cap is 6 pieces per cycle. That is a product constraint, not a pricing tier to be upsold away.
